SO WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Today is the day of your photoshoot. We hope you and your child had an absolute ball! Now you’re probably thinking- what do we do now? Don’t stress, we’ve got you – take a breath and give the following a good read-through.

WHEN DO WE RECEIVE THE PHOTOS?

So, when do you get those dazzling photos of your kiddo? Well, it takes about two weeks to edit the images, after which we’ll receive them from the photographer and upload them to your child’s online portals, on Syngency and Casting Networks. Once done, we’ll send you an email with a PicTime gallery featuring your child’s amazing pictures and details about the next steps. If you’re on a payment plan, remember that you’ll have to wait until full payment is made before receiving all your images.

WHAT CAN I DO IN THE MEANTIME?

You want to ensure your child has the best chance of success, right? So, if you haven’t already, we highly recommend attending one of our onboarding sessions. We’ll give you all the insider tips, advice on how to stay industry ready and you can ask our Talent Coordinators anything about your child’s representation at the end of the session. Plus, it’s run over Zoom, so you can attend in your pjs or do the laundry in the background! We don’t mind- we’re family after all. #2 GET YOUR CHILD’S FINANCES ACTIONED!

Okay, now that your child is represented by us, it’s time to get their financials sorted. Get a TFN and a bank account set up in their name ASAP. If your child is under 15, you’ll have to get a paper copy from the post office or news agency. We would advise not wearing your pjs for this activity. And remember, the bank account MUST be in your child’s name.

WHAT DO I DO WHEN I GET ACCESS TO MY CHILDS PORTALS?

When your photos are received, we’ll set up your child’s portals and send you two email notifications, one from Syngency and the other from Casting Networks, with your login information in approximately 2-3 weeks from your child’s shoot.

This is where we need your support to accurately fill in important information such as height, weight, clothing size, eye, and hair colour. Depending on the age of the talent- skills, hobbies, sports, and work experiences are also important to add. You won’t be on your own- we will hook you up with some sweet training videos via email to show you how to conquer our portals like a boss. And please, please, please don’t forget to mark any dates your child is unavailable for work, we don’t want to put your child forward for a brief when they are holidaying in Bali.

All jokes aside- We can’t stress how important it is to update these two platforms. We have seen too many kids miss out on some great opportunities due to missing or incorrect information or forgetting to let us know that they were unavailable.

Casting Directors are picky creatures, We have feedback from the Casting Directors themselves that will skip kids completely for jobs because they don’t have full portals So, let’s make sure they stand out by having complete portals to maximise your child’s potential.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY CHILD DRAMATICALLY CHANGES AND DOESN’T LOOK LIKE THEIR PICTURES ANYMORE?

Usually the younger the child is, the faster their features and measurements change. After 6-12 months your child can look quite different. The casting directors need to see photos that are as close to reality as we can get. It would be unacceptable to attend an audition looking very different from your headshots. Therefore, we will need to ask you reshoot your child’s headshots as their appearance changes over time, which will vary child to child.

Fear not! We make sure our talent have an affordable resource to renew headshots at any time. We want our family to feel supported and not spend thousands of dollars on headshots that may not cut it for the portals!

As a Bubblegum Casting talent, you’re eligible for a discounted headshot package. So don’t be shy, shoot us an email at casting@bubblegumcasting.com.au and we can send you the details ANYTIME over the course of your representation.

WHEN CAN MY CHILD START WORKING?

As soon as we have all the necessary info and set up your child’s portals, we’ll start putting your child forward for any appropriate briefs that come through. When a client expresses an interest to set up an audition, we’ll let you know immediately! That’s a lie- after we share some high fives around the office and happy dance- then we will give you a call. The client will usually give us short notice on invitations for auditions of a couple of days, so be prepared! With that said- most auditions are heading into the virtual world- self tape auditions usually require to be sent within 24 hours.

HOW OFTEN WILL MY CHILD GET WORK?

Now, for the million-dollar question: how often will your child get work? We can’t predict the future, and we can’t make any guarantees that your child will book work. No agency can. If they do they aren’t reputable.

But we can guarantee is that we’ll submit your child for every work opportunity that they match. We’ll also notify you via email every time we submit your child for work, and we’ll keep trying for your child regardless of their success. Remember, Bubblegum Casting is tier one agency, and we only take on children who we strongly believe will get opportunities. Your wins are our wins. We are a partnership.
