Introducing Our New Video Interviewing and Auditioning Service

We are not alone in dealing with a raft of changes and short term measures that have been required by COVID-19. In line with keeping everybody healthy and safe, we have adapted to the situation with an exciting long term innovation.

Unless you’re part of the Bubblegum family, you probably don’t see all the cool things we’ve been doing behind the scenes. From acting workshops to one-on-one coaching sessions, we’ve been working tirelessly to ensure that the talented kids and adults on our books have the skills they need for success. We even set up a Talent Shoutout group on Facebook to help our clients find unsigned talent for those hard-to-fill roles.

Our latest effort, however, is the one that we’re most proud of as it benefits not only the talent on our books, but also our clients and the young actors and models that want to join the agency. Hey, it’s even beneficial to the crew in the Bubblegum offices!

As you may have guessed from the title of this post, we’re talking about our brand new video interviewing and auditioning service.

Now, you might be wondering why we felt this service was necessary. That’s a good question so let’s take a look.

The need for video interviewing and auditioning

At Bubblegum, we’re always looking to innovate and find the best possible ways to help our talent and clients make the most of any opportunities that come our way. However, we noticed that from time to time, our actors and models were missing out on great opportunities when they couldn’t make it into the office for a scheduled audition.

Of course, this also meant that our clients were missing out too. After all, a young actor or model that couldn’t make an audition could have been exactly what they were looking for.

Not only that, we also noticed that hopeful actors and models that wanted to join the agency sometimes found it difficult to find an appropriate time to pop into one of our offices for a face-to-face interview. And as you may know, this is an essential part of our talent on-boarding process.

So we decided to take action.

We needed to find a way to bring our clients and the talent we represent together while also making it more convenient for us to meet those hopeful actors and models that want to join the Bubblegum family.

A video interviewing and auditioning service made perfect sense, and so we set about creating our own system.

How it works

Client auditions

If a client wants to audition an actor or model on our books, they can now do so by making use of our video auditioning booth.

It works like this:

  1. The talent comes to our office where we prepare them for the audition.
  2. They meet the casting director through a video link.
  3. They perform their audition as they would in person.
  4. They’re done!

It really is that simple.

The benefit here is that a busy casting director will get the opportunity to see and speak with potential talent without having to leave their office. They also know that with Bubblegum hosting the audition, the talent will be well prepared and on time.

For the talent it means that they get to audition in an environment that they feel comfortable in and get the benefit of some last-minute tips from the Bubblegum crew. It also means that there’s a little more room for finding a time that suits both the client and the talent.

Talent interviews

While our video booth is primarily aimed at giving clients the opportunity to audition actors and models remotely, we’re planning to make use of it for talent interviews.

As we mentioned earlier, interviewing potential models and actors is a big part of how we work here at Bubblegum. We simply will not sign talent unless we have had an opportunity to meet with them and gauge their suitability for the industry.

But we understand only too well that finding a time to get into the office can be troublesome. Perhaps it’s down to a busy work schedule, important classes, or maybe those with limited mobility might find travelling to the office takes considerable planning and effort.

Whatever the reasons, we want to give all aspiring actors and models the opportunity to join the Bubblegum family. And our video interviewing service allows us to do just that.

As you can see, whether you’re a client with a busy schedule or an actor or model that sometimes finds it difficult to attend auditions, here at Bubblegum, we’ve got your back.

WANT TO BE A CHILD
ACTOR OR MODEL?

At Bubblegum, we represent some of Australia’s brightest young stars, but even so, we’re always on the lookout for fresh new faces and talent.

If your child is aged anywhere from 3 months to 18 years of age, and you think they might have what it takes to shine in front of a camera or on stage, then we want to hear from you.

We’ll set up a quick informal chat where we’ll get a feel for your child’s suitability for working in the industry.

The lucky kids that make it onto our books benefit from in-house workshops and coaching sessions to help them brush up on their skills. They’ll also get great advice and tips from the Bubblegum team, some of whom have worked as child models and actors themselves! We’ll even arrange a portfolio shoot with our in-house photographer.

We want all the kids on our books to have their chance to shine and if that means working twice as hard to make it happen, then that’s what we’ll do!
