We have some very exciting news to share!
Our CEO, Adam Jacobs, has been invited to be one of the judges for the 2026 Casting Guild of Australia Awards. The winners will be celebrated on Friday 27 November at Arts Centre Melbourne, with Joel Creasey and Kat Stewart hosting the night.
Adam is proud, a little nervous, and very, very excited. And so are we!
What are the CGA Awards?
The Casting Guild of Australia Awards celebrate the casting directors behind Australia’s films, TV shows, theatre productions and ads. They’re the only awards in the southern hemisphere that recognise casting across every medium.
If you’ve ever watched a show and thought “that child was perfect for the role”, a casting director is the reason.
Why this is such a proud moment for us
Bubblegum Casting has been doing this since 1981, and in all that time one thing hasn’t changed. Every child’s first booking starts with a casting director who believed in them.
Adam has seen the look on a child’s face when they hear they’ve booked their first job. He’s seen parents tear up on set. Every one of those moments began with someone in a casting room who took a chance.
Casting directors do so much more than choose who gets the role. They make sets feel safe for young performers. They give clear, kind directions. They remember a face from an audition two years ago and call them back for something new.
“When the invitation came through, I had to read it twice. Getting to help celebrate the people who give our kids their first yes is one of the proudest moments of my career.”

None of this happens without you. The early starts, the self-tapes filmed on the living room floor, the drives to auditions and the patience while you wait to hear back: you’ve been part of every step.
When Adam sits down with the judging panel, he’ll be thinking of every one of our families.
